Email Fundamentals
E-Mail stands for "electronic mail". With your SureWest service you receive three email accounts. The first one will have the format of "jdoe123@everestkc.net". Plus two more that you choose.
"jdoe123 " - is the Account Name (also called username).
"everestkc.net" - is the domain name. The domain name tells the mail server where to delivery you message.
Additional Email Accounts
With your SureWest service you receive three email accounts. The first account is your "primary" management account. This is the one you need to add additional from our web site. (my.everestkc.net)
Changing Your Email Password
This is accomplished by using Webmail from Internet Explorer or Netscape. (webmail.everestkc.net)
Forgotten Passwords
Call our technical support staff. After we verify your account we can reset your password. We do not have the ability to see your current password and thus will be unable to tell you what it is.
Attachments Limits
We do not allow attachments of 10 megabytes or more to be received on your mail account. The size of the attachment you may send is regulated by the receiving server. Most ISPs do not allow attachments of 5 megabytes or larger to be stored on the server. Compression programs such as PKZip can be used to reduce the size of files. You may also try splitting the files into separate emails to facilitate the sending multiple large attachments.
Remotely Access Email
What to look at your email while on vacation. All you need is a computer with Internet access and our Webmail! Using a web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape) go to http://webmail.everestkc.net. Once there type in your email address and password.
